Mezcal Monday: San Nicolás Cocktail

Well it is Mezcal Monday and this week the drink I made is with Mezcal Mina Real Reposado. The idea was to do a variation on a Chapala with mezcal. The lemon and the orange mix is a tad simple with tequila (very good summer drink), but using mezcal instead of tequila and walnut bitters instead of grenadine made this a deep and classy cocktail. Here is the recipe:

San Nicolás

2 Oz Mezcal Mina Real Reposado
1/2 Oz Lemon Juice
1/2 Oz Orange Juice
2-3 Dashes Fee Brother's Black Walnut Bitters

Shake with ice and strain into a chilled glass.
Express the oils of an orange zest across the top.

Relax and enjoy San Nicolás is here...

The name is from a town in Oaxaca that has lemon, oranges and walnuts growing and mezcal... There is mezcal.
